Appointments

appointment_1

Appointments can be made in person or by telephoning 01271 376655.

The surgery is currently operating a telephone triage appointment system where a doctor will ring you back following your request for an appointment. The reception staff will ask you for some general information about your health issue or concern in order to assist the doctors in prioritising the calls. It helps the doctors if you can give the receptionists as much information as you feel comfortable with and ensure they have a correct contact number for you. When the doctor rings you back it might be that the problem can be dealt with over the phone or that a doctor's or nurse's appointment may be more appropriate. Your appointment can then be made by the doctor for a mutually convenient time.

With the exception of emergencies please ring before 11 am for a morning call back and by 4.30 pm for an afternoon call back.

Appointments with the practice nurses and the phlebotomists can be made directly via reception. You can also request a telephone appointment on the day with a practice nurse or nurse practitioner.

The telephone lines: 01271 376655

are open from 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday and our evening surgery operates on Monday 6.30 – 8.00 pm by appointment.

Urgent Appointments

These will be seen the same day for such problems as severe pain, acute infections and deterioration in previously established conditions, i.e. asthma, but they may not be available with a specific doctor.

Extended Hours

We offer Extended Hours surgery on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. This surgery is specifically for patients who are unable to visit us during our normal working hours. The surgery is for pre-bookable GP appointments only and any patients needing to see a doctor urgently should still call the Out of Hours service, Devon doctors, on 0845 6710270. (Nurse appointments, repeat and urgent prescriptions are only available during normal surgery hours).

Reception

Our reception team is here to help you. The receptionists answer the telephone, deal with enquiries and organise repeat prescriptions. Their job is very demanding so please be patient.

You Can Help Us By:

  • Being on time for your appointment
  • Letting us know if you need to cancel
